Voss Studio began as a hobby. John Voss began taking photographs of friends and family members while he taught elementary school. But as interest in his photography grew, the hobby turned into a business. And from there, Voss Studio was born. In 1981, John and his nephew Doyle became partners and built the Studio in Austinville.

With over 50 years of combined experience, John and Doyle have extensive photography knowledge and expertise. John does much of the studio photography and weddings, while Doyle does much of the outdoor photography, school & sports photography, computer digital work as well as weddings. Both have received numerous awards for their outstanding wedding photography.

Liz Pruisner has been employed by Voss Studio since 1986. Most of the time you will be greeted by Liz on the phone, or she will be taking or delivering your order. She also does computer retouching and file preparation work, getting your orders ready to send to the lab and putting the finishing touches before they are delivered.

The Studio has expanded their creative options by converting to digital photography, which greatly increases control over the final portrait and offers both the studio and the customer the ability to make enhancements and modifications as well as the ability to "get creative"!.

It is the goal of John, Doyle and Liz to make the portrait experience as fun and simple as possible. We view each sitting as unique, and photograph them as though we were doing it for ourselves.
